Gateshead Hilton security guard stabbed

Two men are being sought by police on after a security guard at a Tyneside hotel was stabbed in the stomach.

The Gateshead Hilton member of staff was attacked when he approached two men in the hotel grounds on Friday evening.

The 56-year-old suffered a non life-threatening injury and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital.

One of the men was described as black, and wearing a dark, hooded top. The other was white, about 5ft 10ins tall, and wearing jeans and a jumper.

Anyone with any information about the incident just before 2000 GMT is asked to contact Northumbria Police.
